How do I know if you're the right photographer for me?

If you want someone who will help you actually enjoy your day without controlling it, we're probably a good fit. We'll be together for most of the day so it matters that we vibe, and I get along with just about anyone. That said, I'm not the right photographer if you're looking for editorial poses all day. That's just not how I work.

What is your photography style and do you pose couples?

Documentary and candid-first. I watch, I move, I stay out of the way until something is worth capturing. A little guidance here and there during portraits, but the goal is never a directed photoshoot. It's photos that actually look like you two on a day that actually felt like yours.

Do you travel for destination weddings and elopements?

Yes. My wife and I live full-time in a camper van, so travel is already part of how we live. I plan my routes around the weddings and elopements I book, which means if you reach out early enough, I can often work your date into wherever we already are or are headed. Destination weddings, national parks, international locations -- all on the table.

Can you help with location scouting and permits for elopements?

Yes, and this is one of the real advantages of working with a photographer who spends most of the year on the road. For elopements I help with location scouting and permits as much as I can. If I haven't been to your location myself, I'll research what I can and point you in the right direction for whatever I can't handle directly.

What does the planning process look like for a destination wedding or elopement?

We start with a video call so I can understand what you're picturing and where you are in the planning process. From there I help map out the timeline, talk through locations, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks on the photography side. For elopements especially, the planning conversation is where a lot of the good stuff happens.

How do you make people feel comfortable on camera?

Mostly by being pretty laid back about the whole thing. I get to know you before the day so it doesn't feel like a stranger is following you around. On the day I'm not barking directions or running a schedule. I blend in, move quietly, and let you enjoy it. Most couples forget I'm there pretty quickly.

What happens after I reach out?

I get back to you within 24 hours. From there we hop on a quick video call to get to know each other, talk through what matters most to you, and make sure we're a good fit. I want to understand your day before anything else.

When will we get our photos?

Most galleries are delivered within 4 weeks of your wedding day. I also help you plan your timeline beforehand so the day flows naturally and nothing important gets missed.

How many weddings and elopements do you take each year?

Between 10 and 15. I keep it intentionally limited so every couple gets my full attention, before the day and on it.

How do you keep our photos safe?

Every photo is written to two memory cards simultaneously from the moment I click the shutter, so there's always a backup before we even leave the venue. After your wedding I back everything up to at least two hard drives stored separately. Your gallery is safe from the moment I arrive until long after it's delivered.

Do you have vendor recommendations?

Yes. When you book with me I send over a curated vendor guide with people I've actually worked with and trust. Planners, florists, hair and makeup, officiants -- the people on that list are there because I've seen them work, not because they paid to be included.
